Painting with a Purpose

Ellen Kingston

The proceeds from the sales of these works of art are donated to charities.

It's all about giving. Ellen Kingston works with nonprofits by selling her artwork and donating the proceeds to charities. Having lost two dear friends to pancreatic cancer, she first contacted the Lustgarten Foundation to benefit from sales, and then coordinated with other charities including Long Island Cares - Harry Chapin Foodbank and Surfrider Foundation.

After retiring from 31 years of teaching, she can now devote more time to her painting and photography. Ms. Kingston believes each one of us is here to do good and to serve each other. "As a teacher, I touched so many lives. Now, by selling my artwork I can continue to help others and really make a difference. I know that each of us has a purpose and I'm so grateful that I've found mine."
